PegOpera License

Two types of license exist for PegOpera :

Common License Terms

The software suite PegOpera is composed of two parts:
  • The Pegase model
  • The Graphical user Interface

The license to use the softare components is applicable to both parts. It is granted after a partnership concluded with the Aquapole of the University of Liège when the software suite is aquired.

Publications

Any publication made possible thanks to the use, even partial, of any PegOpera software component or containing results obtained by the use of any PegOpera software component shall cite at least one of the references about PegOpera available in the reference list.

Liability

Nor Aquapole, nor ULg can be hold responsible for the effects of the eventual diffusion or eventual use of results obtained through the use of PegOpera software component. The validation of data bases is the only responsibility of the user, unless an explicit convention with the Aquapole states a different situation.

Intellectual Property

The ULg is the only owner of intellectual property about PegOpera software components. It cannot be copied or modified without the explicit agreement of the Aquapole of the University of Liège. Any contrary action is liable of lawsuit action with the Belgian justice.


PegOpera Community Edition

This license includes the common license terms. It is applicable to the version of the software suite

PegOpera known under the apellation "Community Edition" (CE), which can be downloaded from the PegOpera web site, or which results of the expiry of a "PRO" license.

Support

No support is provided for version CE. Community members have nevertheless access to the PegOpera forum.

The validity of results obtained is the only responsibility of the user, any validation task required being his only responsibility.

Scientifical use

The "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera can be used for scientifical research, within the limits of the software capabilities.

Academic use

La "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera can be used to illustrate courses or lectures, or to realise practical classes in the frame of academic courses, within the limits of the software capabilities.

Administrative Use

Public administrations can use the "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera for their own needs, and for the needs implied by the application of the European Community Water Framework Directive or related Directive, within the limits of the software capabilities.

Commercial Use

It is not authorised to use the "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera for a commercial purpose. It is not authorised to sell results obtained through the use of the "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera.

Test

It is allowed to anyone to use the "CE" version of the software suite PegOpera to evaluate the software suite, or to train about use, in view of procuring a "PRO" license of the software suite.

Data Bases

The user of the CE version is responsible for the construction of its data base (which can imply obtaining a data base from competent authorities at their own charge). The user can, if needed, create this data base from scratch, or by modifying the data bases provided as samples with the CE version.

In any case, the software suite PegOpera cannot be used with data bases for which the user has not been granted the rights to use it.


PegOpera Pro

The license to use the "Professional" (PRO) version of PegOpera software suite is associated with a hardware protection dongle. The dongle determines the type of license granted (temporary/permanent, site/seat/floating, restrictions…). The dongle can only be procured with the Aquapole of the University of Liège.

Expiry

The PRO license of the PegOpera software suite is eventually subject to expiry. At the expiry date, if software use rights are not renewed, the terms of this license are replaced by the terms of the "Community Edition" (CE) license. The dongle shall be returned to Aquapole, and the software automatically switches to CE mode.

License transfer

It is possible to transfer "PRO" licenses by transferring the dongle associated with the license. The Aquapole shall be warned of such a transfer (even temporary).

Data Bases

The user of the "PRO" version shall procure the elements needed to build his own data base with competent authorities owning the data, and be granted the right to use them.

It is possible to build one's own data base, the user takes full responsibility concerning its acuracy.

It is possible to establish a partnership with the Aquapole of the University of Liège in order to build a data base. The conditions of the partnership shall be established on a case by case basis.
