Results of Pegase

The results generated by Pegase are numerous and huge in size, particularly in non stationnary mode.

Indeed, the model calculates several tens of variables:

  • On a whole watershed modelled (potentially several tens of thousands of km with a spatial discretisation of a few hundreds meters)
  • For non-stationnary simulations usually over a whole year (with a time step of a few minutes)

Generally, the main variables (used, among others to calculate usual quality indices) are output every day in each calculation point under the form of daily average.

Other calculated variables can also be output (daily means) :

  • on the whole calculated watershed at selected output dates
  • For a selection of locations (measurement points, outlets…) each day of the simulation.

Other result files are also generated by the model:

  • Files used for the generation of balance sheets over river sections (whole river, hydrographic zones, water bodies…) over defined periods
  • Files to control the proper execution of the simulation (numerical coherence, flux control…)
  • Files providing the characteristics of particular points for calculation or in input data (eg Quality sampling stations, confluences, releases…)

Result Exploitation

the results can be directly exploited in various ways:

  • generation of charts (maps, longitudinal profiles, time series)
  • Generation of balance sheets at outlets, by river or by water body
  • Statistics calculation and globalisation per water body
  • Export of results and use in third party tools (ArcGIS®, Excel®, Google Earth™…)
