ORION Research Program
The Orion Project is an Interreg VI (France-Wallonia-Flanders) which aims at a holistic and dynamic characterisation of pressures on aquatic ecosystems in the transborder Meuse, in order to assess its vulnerability and its resilience capacity. In the frame of this project, the PeGIRE lab is essentially in charge of simulating the spatio-temporal dynamics of pressures, based on existing applications of the Pegase Model in the French and Belgian Meuse. A particulat attention will be paid to micropollutant not simulated yet (heavy metals, PFAS, PAH, phtalates…)

Water & Health Program — Management of cyanobacteria blooms in Sarrebourg ponds
In response to a tender of Water & Health Agency and Rhin-Meuse Water Agency, concerning the increase of cyanobacteria blooms in the water supplying reservoirs of the Sarre canals in the region of Sarrebourg, Artelia, a French engineering Bureau of Strasbourg has been integrated in a consortium essentially ade of French Universities to handle the hydraulic aspects of the study.
Artelia has asked PeGIRE lab to participate to this project with Pegase to understand the causes of the blooms, and simulate measures to reduce them.
A specific Pegase application has been developed to model the complex system of Sarre River, tributaries, multiple Ponds and 2 Canals.
